Create a colourful and bright statement necklace- perfect for summer. Is there anything more fun than a pom pom?! We think not!
Gather all your materials together and get yourself a nice clear work space. You'll need to be able to find those pom poms because they're gonna try and roll away.
Cut out your felt into two semi circles and make sure they're the same size. They can be as small or as large as you like. Just remember that you need to have enough pom poms to cover it! Keep one out and pop the other to the side for later.
Start stitching your poms to the felt base. Go for the big poms first and attach them with a few stitches to make sure they're nice and secure. You could use invisible thread but if you have a coloured thread it's easy enough to fluff up your poms to cover it.
Stitch on your smaller poms on to hide any gaps and give a bit of variety. Build it up until all your felt is covered and you're looking pompom-tastic.
Get your jewellery pliers and your chain at the ready. Measure how much chain you want. To do this, just wrap it round your neck until you get the length you desire. Use your pliers to remove the middle link so you're left with two lengths of chain.
Add jump rings onto each end of the chains. Pop a lobster clasp onto one of the ends so you'll be able to take the necklace on and off.
Close up you clasp so your chain becomes one again.
Grab the two ends of your chain. Take one and stitch it to one corner of your pom pom piece. Then take the other end and attach it to the other corner. Make sure your stitches are nice and secure.
Grab your other felt semi circle and attach this to the back of your pom pom piece. This will cover up all of the stitching and make sure your necklace looks neat and tidy. If you're feeling lazy you can attach it with super glue. Or you can keep up the sewing and sew some nice neat stitches around the edge. The choice is yours! As you can see I chose glue ;)
Ta da! You are ready to shake your pompoms!
