Stainless Steel Chainmaille Bracelet

8-in-1 European weave

This was a fun piece to make. I ordered stainless steel rings as something different - I guess the stainless steel option is great if you're allergic to the precious metals. I'm not, but I do love metal :). When the rings arrived I was kinda dismayed to find they were very, very thin - my ruler tells me the wire is about 0.5mm. However, I did have a pattern in mind for it, the 6-in-1 European weave.... but then I found an 8-in-1 (http://www.artofchainmail.com/patterns/european/basic1in8.html) and I thought it worked a treat. As you can see from the pics, I'm absolutely in love with it. However, none of them do justice in illustrating just how fine the wire is (in one of the pics I teamed it with a chunky copper bracelet). I'm pretty sure that even a 10-in-1 might also have worked.... or perhaps even higher. Have a go at this. It was great.
