I got a whole bunch of vintage wooden spools with an old sewing-table I bought to house a record player. I don't do a lot of sewing, and when I do I tend not to require 4 spools of red thread. So when I was looking for a necklace to go with the floral dress pictured, I realised I had the perfect colours in thread and this project instantly came to mind. after finding the chain (stolen from an old necklace that's looking tatty now) and a couple of odd earrings I used to fix the upper spool in place, it took moments to assemble. So easy, so pretty.
