So I took a look at my collection of shoes and had nothing cute or punk-ish to wear to my sister's party (the theme was early nineties party... not sure if the shoes fit, but they were a hit anyhow). I made a really cute pair for my sister as well (they had a little kid in a lion costume and one in a giraffe costume) but I was so excited to give them to her, that I forgot to take pictures. Just a side note, the pictures really don't do them justice. They're really not shiny... damned flash.

Paint your shoes any color you'd like using the tulip soft fabric paint. Let dry or if you're impatient like me, use a hair dryer.
Freehand a design with pencil (I use colored pencil when the design is too dark or gray). You can also make a design or find one online and print it out. For my cheapie stencils (since I never have anything lying around that I want) I just print it onto paper, cover the back with duct tape and use an exacto knife to cut it out.
Outline design and color it in!!
After that's dried, spray two light coats of scotch guard over the shoes. Try doing it a few feet away and make sure it's light. If it's too heavy, the paint may wash away or smear. If it does smear, pat the shoes down with a paper towel, do some touch ups and spray again.
Let dry and wear them out!!
