I found this wonderful glitter effect yarn that I wanted to make something sparkly with. I'm sorry that my english isn't made for writing crochet patterns. But if you have any problems with understanding or want to help me translate it to proper crocheian I'd be very thankful.
I found this wonderful glitter effect yarn that I wanted to make something sparkly with. I'm sorry that my english isn't made for writing crochet patterns. But if you have any problems with understanding or want to help me translate it to proper crocheian I'd be very thankful.
I started with 5 sc and formed a ring. During my first rnd I increased with 2 in 1 in each sc, all in all there should be 10 sc when you're done with this rnd. The continuation is to increase every rnd with 5 sc evenly. Until you get the diameter you want of the final bauble.
When you've got the desired diameter keep crocheing a couple of simple rnd's. Depending on the thikness of your yarn the amount of rnd's varies, but you want to make the curv even, to make the transition to the upcomming decrease smooth.
When you've croched the suitable amount of rnd's you'll start decreasing. I use the 2 to 1 technuiqe (http://crochet.about.com/library/bl_decrease.htm ) Decrease 5 sc evenly per rnd, until the end. As the work progresses towards the end you'll have to start the stuffing, before finaly closing it - as shown in the picture.
Finally you'll have a babule ready to be decorated!
I decided to embroyder it with flowers and leafs. I also used some beads. This step is of course up to you and your imagination.
