This idea spawned from the Soda/Beer Can Ashtrays by nykole m so to make the original you might wish to go check her "How To" out ;-)but I don't smoke [:-{~ but DO love candles so I had to at least try one, then two, three and four...hahaha. As a non smoker I felt mine were getting a bad rep under ashtrays as mine are honest to goodness candle holders (for me at least) and you have to modify them a bit as explained further. I got creative with them after I was more comfortable working with the tin and made some fun conversation pieces ;-). *Tip: These hold the bigger tea lights perfect but you HAVE to make an indent in the bottom of the can as one of my pics show IF you will be using them for candles so the candles will sit flat. Easy to do... I took a thick glass that use to be a mustard jar that fit perfect inside the finished holders and pressed down hard enough to somewhat push part of the bottom flat. You will not get them real flat you just want to take the round dome shape off so the candle sits in flat ;-). You can probably find a better tool for the job (and SAFER..lol) but it worked for me real quick and easy. Please do NOT try this with a thin glass as it will probably shatter and slice your fingers off!
