I love hairbands but I only seem to suit wearing accessories at one specific angle on my head, so I decided to make a hairband that I could easily snap on and off accessories.
I love hairbands but I only seem to suit wearing accessories at one specific angle on my head, so I decided to make a hairband that I could easily snap on and off accessories.
For this project, you'll need one fabric hairband, some snaps and a snap setter.
Decide which angle your hair accessories look cutest at and punch a hole through the hairband at that position.
Pick out a snap back that matches the hairband.
Use the snap setter to press the snap into place through the hairband.
To make the bow, with one end in the middle, fold the ribbon into a loop and clip in the middle with a peg.
Continue folding the long end of the ribbon into loops, clipping in the middle with the peg.
Once you've made four loops, cut the end of the ribbon, remove the peg and pierce through the middle of the bow with an awl.
Pick out a cute snap and punch it through the middle of your bow.
Neaten up the ends of the ribbon by cutting little triangles out of the edges.
Make as many cute little bows and accessories as you like.
Clip an accessory that matches your outfit onto your hairband and you're ready to go!
