I got the idea from the book Tilda's Hus. I tried their pattern but they kept falling off my feet. I made my own pattern so my feet will stay warmer and the slippers stay on my feet http://www.littleforesthandmade.blogspot.nl/ They're quite easy to make, I'm not an experienced sewer at all. I only got my sewing machine about 4 weeks ago. Give it a try! (I hope the instructions are clear, it was quite difficult to write them in Enlgish.)

Description

I got the idea from the book Tilda's Hus. I tried their pattern but they kept falling off my feet. I made my own pattern so my feet will stay warmer and the slippers stay on my feet http://www.littleforesthandmade.blogspot.nl/ They're quite easy to make, I'm not an experienced sewer at all. I only got my sewing machine about 4 weeks ago. Give it a try! (I hope the instructions are clear, it was quite difficult to write them in Enlgish.)

Instructions

  1. Small patroon slofjes verbeterd 1254032944

The patterns are suitable for a size 39-41. Simply adjust the pattern if your feet are bigger or smaller than that. (excuse my crappy photoshop skills... I ajusted the pattern again)

  2. Small 15374

    a) Fold the fabric and pin pattern A on it as in the picture. Cut out with an extra 1-2 cm seam allowance. Remove pattern from fabric. b) Do the same with the toweling fabric. c) Pin the sole pattern B on the toweling fabric and cut out with an extra 1-2 cm cm seam allowance. Remove pattern from fabric. d) Pin the sole pattern B on the sole fabric and cut out with an extra 1-2 cm cm seam allowance.

  3. Small 15382

This is what pattern A and B look like after you've cut them out. You'll have 2 x pattern A (outside fabric and toweling fabric) and 2 x pattern B (toweling fabric and special strong sole fabric like jeans or leather).

  4. Small 15383

Pin both patterns A (the fabric for the outside of the slipper and the toweling fabric) on each other, the fabric facing down. Sew them together in the inside circle (where you see al those pins).

  5. Small 15384

Put you project down like the picture and sew the heel from top to bottom.

  6. Small 15385

Pin the toweling sole to the inside of the slipper and sew them together.

  7. Small 15386

This is an extra picture for step 6.

  8. Small 15387

Now pin the sole to the outside fabric, like this and sew them together. Leave and opening of approximately 4-5 cm and turn your project inside out through that opening. Hand sew the opening. If the fabric is all crinckled after turning it inside out, simply spray/nozzle (hope I choose the right translation)some water on it and it will turn smooth again. Mind you, this only works if the fabric has never been washed before.

  9. Small 15388

Done! Now you can decorate it with pompons, ribbons, beads and whatever else you like.
