Description

This fun slave bracelet uses a vintage crystal clip-on earring as the focal point. Dig around in your collection of vintage jewelery to find the perfect one.

Instructions

  1. Small may102013185 zps0281ac3e

Start by removing the back clip-on part. It requires a bit of wiggling and pulling.

  2. Small may102013186 zps902840d8

Use your pliers to flatten the two prongs (I don't know what to call them? The things with the holes) that the back clip-on part was attached to.

  3. Small may102013187 zps1cda3f5c

Now flatten the whole part against the earring. My earring was soft enough to bend with my fingers.

  4. Small may102013190 zps984ea1ec

Using a jump ring, attach the lobster clasp to one of the prongs on the back of the earring. Attach a jump ring to the end of the chain, hook it to the clasp like you would a regular bracelet. This looks really weird, but don't worry you'll change it later, its just for measurement purposes. *(NOTE)* When making any kind of bracelet, you always want to take the clasp into account or you could end up with a bracelet that is too big.

  5. Small may102013199 zps970cf17b

Place the earring where you want it to rest on your hand. Wrap the chain around your wrist to meet the other prong. *(NOTE)* Tape can help with this step (especially when you're trying to take pictures at the same time). Cut the chain to the measured length.

  6. Small may102013202 zps2e9bc830

Remove the clasp from the earring, fold the chain in half and cut into two equal parts.

  7. Small may102013204 zps8a7550ef

Attach the clasp to the other part of the chain you just cut, so that it is in the middle of the two small chains.

  8. Small may102013208 zps12ccb983

Take one end of the chain and attach it to one of the earring prongs using a jump ring.

  9. Small may102013209 zpse873e894

Attach the other end of the chain to the other prong. It should now look like a really big bracelet.

  10. Small may102013214 zps39cae0d1

Attach the two jump rings (the ones that attach the chain to the earring) together with another jump ring.

  11. Small may102013216 zps6b098e54

Attach a second piece of chain to the third jump ring.

  12. Small may102013217 zps493a09da

Put the bracelet on. Take the chain you just attached and wrap it around your middle finger measure and cut the chain. *(NOTE)* After finishing the bracelet I realized that measuring the finger chain with a flat hand made it kind of tight and it was hard to tighten my hand into a fist. This could be easily fixed my measuring the finger chain slightly bigger. After making my own I fixed this problem by adding an extra jump ring a the clasp.

  13. Small may102013224 zps0ecbcb7d

Attach the other end of the finger chain to the third jump ring.
