I walked in the Las Vegas Aid for Aids fo Nevada walk this last Sunday to show that even pirates support this worthy cause. Putting on my garb I decided that I did not have enough accessories and my arms were a little bare (not enough tattoos yet). So I decided to make some bracers for my forearms. I took some heavy leather 10oz (oz stands for thickness of the leather, not how much it weighs) and carved the skull and mermaid into the leather and then wet formed them to the shape I needed. I then took leather dye and very carefully painted the dye onto the proper areas. With them on I felt kind of like a superhero... Or maybe a supervillain. I cannot fight my pirate nature. I am in the process of making a new set for a client. I will be sure to get pictures of the process, and I will post a tutorial.
