Description

This is a first-time wire work project, creating a simple but classic rose gold wire bow torc.

Instructions

  1. Small 104977 2f2014 10 19 123734 dsc 0468

For this project, I used a rose-gold jewellery wire (0.6mm), round nose pliers and flat pliers.

This project follows a torc bracelet shape, which creates an open curve that fits around the wrist. To start, I place the end of the wire in the centre of my wrist and create a curve that looped to the centre underside of my wrist (use the round pliers ot help mould if needed), back to the centre:

...where I secured the end with a few spirals of the wire, which I then made flush with the flat pliers.

Repeat the curve on the opposite side and cut the wire, securing in place with loops and the flat pliers.

Trim the ends and then bring them to the front of the bracelet and make flush with the flat pliers (this will stop any scratching from sharp ends).

Next, make the bow embellishment. This was simple made by cutting a 10cm length of wire and making a looped bow design - I opted for this continuous design to avoid any sharp ends, but whichever bow design your prefer can be used.

To finish, I wrapped the end of the wire around the centre, trimming and then making flush at the back to hide the ends.

Finally, with a generous dot of hot glue, I attached the bow to the centre of the torc.

If you would like the make the bracelet more secure, or to add further pretty, loop a ribbon between either end.

This makes a pretty, simple and classic addition to stacked bracelets. Do try it yourself.
