You Will Need (7 things)

  • Tester Paint pots
  • Paint Brush
  • A Cross stitch design
  • Scrap paper
  • Spirit Level
  • Stick
  • Pencil

Steps (4 steps, 240 minutes)

  1. 1

Choose a really simple cross stitch design to fit on the wall space you want to decorate. There are some you can copy on my blog (link at the bottom), or you can design your own, or just look online.
Each cross will be 2" so count how many square in your chosen design, times by 2 and that's how many inches the design will be - will it fit?
Once you've chosen your design, find and mark lightly in pencil a large cross on the wall centrally where you want the design to go. Use a spirt level and metre stick to help you.

  2. 2

Transfer the cross stitch design onto the wall starting in the centre. Make a 2" square window template on scrap paper to help you keep the crosses even

  3. 3

Using the paint from the tester pots and a medium paintbrush paint the crosses on following the cross stitch chart.

Once the design is dry, rub out any visible pencil lines and admire your beautiful mural!
