Shortbread Sour

Celebrate Burns Night with a Scottish twist on the Whisky Sour!

You Will Need (8 things)

  • 30 ml J&B Rare Whisky
  • 30 ml Shortbread Vodka or Amaretto
  • 20 ml Simple Syrup
  • 2 drop Angostura Bitters
  • Egg
  • Lemon
  • Raspberry for garnish
  • Ice

Steps (9 steps, 10 minutes)

    Crush a stick of shortbread into a fine crumb and place in a bowl.

    Fill a second bowl with water. Dip the rim of your cocktail glass in water and then dip in the shortbread, coating the rim in crumbs.

    Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the whisky.

    Add the Shortbread Vodka or Amaretto and simple syrup to sweeten to your taste.

    Shortbread Vodka:
    Crush the shortbread into fine crumbs and add a teaspoon into a small bottle. Fill with 120ml vodka, shake well and leave to infuse for at least 24 hours.

    Squeeze in a couple of drops of bitters.

    Crack in the white from an egg.

  7. 7

    Squeeze in the juice from half a lemon.

  8. 8

    Shake hard and strain into the cocktail glass, filled with ice.

    Garnish with a raspberry and serve.
