About

I had an old par of comfy cotton pants that I loved to wear but where getting kind of thin. So I made a pattern of them on recycled paper and have made 8 pairs of these now, 4 are now being worn by the kids. One pattern can make many sizes. For mine I use the pattern but add a seam allowance. For the checkered ones, same pattern but I do not add a seam allowance and shorten the length. The green pair is the same pattern, seam allowance added and a little in the length. I also found that shirring the tops make them more comfy and the more rounds the tighter the fit. If you line up your pattern with the hem already on your sheets you will not have to hem the pants. My next thrift store trip I want to find some cool cotton linen sheets or fabric and make some summer work pants with it. Right now, in the winter time, I wear my sheet pjs under my work pants or longer skirts and feel more comfy then if I had thermals on. The sheets are 100% cotton so I seem stay at a constant temperature, which can change a lot in Tahoe.
