Description

I wanted to make my own Christmas cards last year...usually I purchase cards after Christmas on clearance but I hadn't found any I liked I guess. I had all the supplies on hand so I made them myself!

Instructions

  1. Select a design to print. I found some on a blog I follow...Angie's Knick Of Time.

  2. Small xmas1

Next tape a music page to a printer size paper. Select a random page or use a favorite Christmas carol or hymn. I use Washi tape to attach the page to the printer paper by taping all across the top of the music page. You don't want to have any loose corners or it will jam the printer.

  3. Paste the chosen image into a word document (his is how I do it, may not be the easiest way). Adjust the size to fit the size of the cards you have and then center the image on the document so it will be in the center of your music sheet.

  4. Print a "test page", place it over your music page and adjust your word document until it looks right on your music page.

  5. Small xmas2

Print the design onto the music page.

  6. Small xmas3

Carefully peel off the tape from the top and bottom of the music sheet.

  7. Trim to fit the card using the paper cutter or scissors.

  8. Using the glue stick attach the trimmed music sheet to the card, centering it on the card.

  9. Small xmas4

Now for the fun part! Run a very thin line of glue around the edge of the music sheet.

  10. Small xmas5

Tap a bit of glitter onto the glue.

  11. Shake it around to cover all the glue, holding it over a paper plate to catch the glitter so it can be reused.

  12. Small xmas14 1

Then if you want, highlight the printed design with glitter. I used a pine branch with a cone on it, so I used shades of brown and green.

  13. Small xmas14

Shake off the excess glitter and you are done!

  14. Small xmas12

I printed Merry Christmas on another sheet music page and cut them out to make the greeting inside. Just use a glue stick to attach them to the inside of the card.

  15. Small xmas17

Because I am an overachiever, I made some Merry Christmas "stickers" to go on the outside of the envelope using the same technique.

Now sit back and admire them! I got lots of compliments on mine...
