“Moss is nature’s carpet.” —Anonymous When a good friend recently asked me to help her design her wedding décor, I immediately thought of moss. Something about the deep green color and the texture of moss evokes the feeling of lush, dense, verdant forests that smell of earth and new life. Moss has a rustic elegance that makes it perfect for creating monogram letters to be used on a head table at a wedding. When used in home décor accents, moss adds a rich, natural feel that works beautifully with styles ranging from farmhouse to cottage, boho to chic. This moss-covered letter would also be equally at home on a bookshelf or attached to a wreath for the front door.

Apply one coat of the moss-green craft paint to your letter, and let dry thoroughly before proceeding.
Using another brush, cover one section of the letter with craft glue. Tear off enough sheet moss to attach to that section before the glue has time to dry. Press the moss down, and hold it in place until it sets. Add craft glue to the next section, and cover that area with more moss.
As you go, you may wish to trim the edges in a few places to create a crisp, clean edge to the moss.
Continue working your way over the letter, including the sides, until you’ve covered the whole letter with moss. Let the glue dry, and trim the remaining edges as needed.
