Shaving soap is easy to make and feels nice to use (I'm told) the brush helps lift the hairs up, making cuts and nicks a thing of the past. Natural boar bristles are the best to use and there are many budget-friendly options online. (I got mine for $2.99!) I put a sticker on mine to personalize.

You will need

Essential Oil (I used five drops each of sandalwood and lavender, don't use more than a total of 10 drops. Optional if the recipient dislikes any kind of fragrance) Ceramic Mug or cup (I used one that is meant to be a dipping bowl. I thought the shape was more elegant, making it look cool in the bathroom. You don't need to get one with a handle, just one that fits in the palm of the hand nicely) 2 tbsp of Clay such as bentonite or kaolin (any kind of facial clay will work and many natural stores sell it in bulk which will cost next to nothing) 1 cup soap base or bar of moisturizing Soap (I like pure shea butter base) Spray Bottle filled with alcohol (optional)

Instructions

1. 

   Chop the soap base into chunks and put in a microwave container such as Pyrex. Melt for 45 seconds or until mostly melted. Stir (a wooden craft stick or skewer works well) until fully melted, add clay, stir until fully dissolved. Add essential oils then pour into your cup. If bubbles form on top spray a few times with the alcohol to dissipate. It will dry quickly. If the surface doesn't look perfect you can remelt and try again. Voila!
