A cute mason jar top for the less traditional home decorator.

About

The project that I did today was based on a whole bunch of projects that I’ve been seeing all over the place of these super cute mason jar toppers with tiny animal figurines on them I just thought that was the most adorable idea ever. Of course, I’m not really a traditionally “cutesy” person, so I figured I would make it a little more my style. So instead of having a small bear figurine or a deer or something like that, I made mine with pastel pink spray paint and a dinosaur figurine. That’s just how I do.

Sadly, it started raining outside right as the last coat of paint was drying so there are a few problems with the final paint job but it’s nothing that is going to break my heart. If anything I think that it gives it a little bit of extra character. I cannot wait to put a bunch of questionable looking foreign candy in here and see what my friends make of it.

You Will Need (4 things)

  • Mason Jar
  • Spray Paint
  • E-6000 Glue
  • Dinosaur Figurine

Steps (4 steps, 30 minutes)

  1. 1

I went ahead and glued my top together because my dinosaurs tail was too long for the ring to go over without breaking the dinosaur off.

  2. 2

Once your top is glued together go ahead and glue down your figurine to the top and allow that to set.

  3. 3

Once everything has had a couple of hours to set up go ahead and start painting. I used spray paint outside, but I’m sure you could paint it by hand if you prefer. This took like 14 coats and if I had had some sort of spray paint primer I would have used it.

  4. 4

Then, once your paint has entirely dried, you are done and you can screw your cap onto your jar and store some candy in there!
