Sewing Machine Cover

Cover your machine in style

This cover will fit pretty much any sewing machine. However, it's good to measure your machine anyway to make sure the cover will fit. The top of mine is a bit choppy because I used two shirts (I recycle everything). I'll probably do another one in a better material. The decoration for the cover was inspired by Jenny B's "Jen B bag" http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/jenbbagc_

Instructions

  1. Small ht cover1 1290731785

You will need: -two pieces of material that are 17" by 11" -One piece that is 8" by 36"

  2. Small ht cover 2 1290732972

-Round off the upper two corners on the 17 by 11 pieces (forgot to do that on the pic sorry). This will be the top of your machine cover. -If you want to decorate, now is the time to do it.

  3. Small ht cover 3 1290732977

-Pin and sew the 8 by 36 strip to the top of one of the 17 by 11 rectangles right sides together (as illustrated) -Do the same for the other rectangular piece -Hem the bottom

    - I used the button hole function on my machine to make a slot for the handle to stick out. To do this just slip the cover over your machine with the handle up and mark where the handle starts and ends. Then use the button hole function to make the slot. This way, your material won't fray when you cut the slit open. Voila! A nifty sewing machine cover.
