All you need is some scraps of fabric, stabiliser and a zip - and in no time you've sewn you own little purse.
All you need is some scraps of fabric, stabiliser and a zip - and in no time you've sewn you own little purse.
Place the lining with the right side up and lay the zipper on top, teeth facing up. Now place your outer fabric with the right side down on top of the zip, pin in place and stitch the three layers together. Do the same with the other two remaining pieces of fabric and the other side of the zip
Now that you've sewn the pieces together it should look like this
Fold the two outer fabrics together, right sides facing, and the two lining fabrics in the same way (outer fabric on outer fabric, lining on lining) and stitch them together, leaving a 5cm gap in the lining.
Trim the seam allowance, cut across the corners and cut off the excess zip to reduce bulk.
Turn your purse right side out through the gap in the lining and close the gap by hand or machine. Purse finished!
