Self portraits come very easily for some- but for others, it's difficult. I'm an amateur photographer, and self portraits are what I struggle with the most. I love to do them, but they usually suck. So here are a few tips;
Self portraits come very easily for some- but for others, it's difficult. I'm an amateur photographer, and self portraits are what I struggle with the most. I love to do them, but they usually suck. So here are a few tips;
First you have to find your right angle. This step is easy, you just need to figure out how to hold the camera so you look your best. Example; my angle would be holding the camera slightly over my head, looking down at me, or straight infront of my face, so I'm looking directly at it.
Second, you have to pick out your props. Example; if you would like to be holding a flower, wearing a headband, riding a bike, anything. Props make the picture original, without props, your picture may seem a little boring. Remember to use colors, but don't go overboard !!!
Thirdly; Chose a background and position. Backgrounds are important, especially if you don't plan to blur the background enough to not see it. Also, the position you're in makes a huge impact, for example; if you're standing, sitting, if it's all your body, or just your face, so on. Try different things, don't always be in the same position or have the same background, make things interesting.
Fourthly- have fun ! Self portraits are a great way to boost self confidence & show emotion.
