I saw a seashell candle project by V-I-O-L-E-T-Z on the site which required a double boiler, since I don't own one I had to think of an alternative... I find my version a lot quicker

You could use scented candles or just plain ones whichever suits your taste. Rinse shells well and dry them. Make sure the shells are big enough to fit one tea light in, the tea light shouldn't reach over the edge of the shell or else the wax will spill... as simple as that. It doesn't matter if the top sticks out though. Place a piece of clay (or something else microwave resistant) underneath the front part of the shell so that the shell will hold firm and lay horizontally this way the wax will melt evenly. Place in microwave for 1 minute (750kw) and leave the microwave door open so the wax can cool off.
