It was for art class, but I had total control over it :3 The hole in his heart is actually a heart that lights up :) I took an old flashlight top, wired it to the base (had my dad help me a bit) and then switches were added. I also took some plastic and made a cover to go over the hole, painted it red with 2 thin coats of nail polish, then glued a paper over it with a heart shape cut out of it. so the light only glows out of the heart.

Find your inspiration. Mine was my boyfriend. And this drawing I made of my boyfriend and I.
cut the wire and make an armature. if you need help with this, try drawing a stick figure, then adding the 'building block' shapes. secure everything with masking tape.
Find a base. mine was out of wood and plywood, hollow on the inside. get holes put in the appropriate places for your armatures to stand up on. Secure. Use things like pencils if it wont stand. My guy has about 4 pencils in his legs :D
fill the armature with newspaper and use tape to hold it in place. wrap the tape well!! When you are done, cover with paper mache.
Cover the base with something. I used paper pulp, sculpted it, let it dry, then painted it to resemble bricks.
Paint them as you wish. I used gold metallic on my robot man. Also, don't put the clothes on before you paint just because you want to make clothes...It makes it difficult to paint. After you paint all the pieces, you can make any parts you were going to out of the clay.
Sorry about the bad picture.. So, add hair and what not to it, and finish the clothes. Add eyes too (I used plastic eyes and slipped them into the sockets of the girl's clay head, and pushed them into the guy's head, then taped over them a bit and painted over the tape. (the tape was to mimic eye lids.
I covered the switch with dried flowers, and put dried flowers on the other corner as well. I also put a top hat on the girl, and dyed her hair (the fake hair took the red i put in as pink. oh well. ) Add molding on the sides if you wish to. It also helps to keep the paper pulp from lifting off.
Take a nice picture of it and you are done! Admire your people :) (or robot ;) )
