Count down to Christmas and celebrate advent with these scrapbook paper gift boxes! Use glossy paper, ribbon and little bells to create these luxury gift packages. Craft a gift box for each of the 4 advent Sundays and fill with a personalised gift. The recipient can open one of these festive boxes every Sunday in the run-up to Christmas. Together with the tray, the four little boxes form an advent calendar that will look stunning in your interior space or on your counter.
For the 4 boxes, cut the scrapbook paper into 15 x 27cm, 20 x 27cm, 25 x 27cm and 30 x 27cm pieces respectively.
Score each sheet 6.3cm, 12.6cm, 18.9cm and 25.2cm in on the 27cm edge.
Next, score each sheet 5cm in on the other edge (15, 20, 25 and 30cm respectively) on one side. These will become the bases of the boxes.
Fold at all the scored lines. Then cut the folded lines on a diagonal on the 5cm section. Now cut the corners off the narrow strip to create a sticky edge.
Stick all the boxes down with the sticky edge.
Fold the flaps inward and stick down the last flap. Do the same on all of the boxes.
For the lid, cut out 14.5 x 14.5cm from the patterned paper and score all edges 4cm in. Repeat this 3 more times: the dimensions of the lid on all four boxes are the same.
Cut the edges of the lids on a diagonal, as shown in the photo.
Glue down the flaps on the lids.
Cut out a circle with a scalloped edge from the glitter paper, and a smaller circle from the blue-grey cardstock. From the dark blue cardstock, cut out the numbers 1,2,3 and 4.
Use foam tape to stick the circle onto the glitter paper and stick the number on top. Stick all of this onto the centre of the lid.
Punch a strip of paper to make a decorative edge with and glue it to the undersides of the lids.
Rub Nuvo Embellishment mousse onto the wooden tray and leave to dry completely.
Place the boxes onto the tray and decorate the ensemble with a ribbon and little bells.
