This is a super fun sewing project that is also very functional for those cold weather months. A great solution for coats that have no hoods or if you don't like getting hat hair :)

Description

This is a super fun sewing project that is also very functional for those cold weather months. A great solution for coats that have no hoods or if you don't like getting hat hair :)

Instructions

  1. Small 4463

Cut out two hood shapes from both the fleece and the fabric. Pin a hoody you already own to the fabric to get the right size and allow 1/4 inch seam.

  2. Small 4464

Next, sew the two fleece pieces together along the curve of the hood. (Doesn't matter which side since its fleece.) Then sew the fabric pieces right sides together along the curve as well.

  3. Small 4466

Set aside the hood pieces. Cut two rectangle pieces of the fleece and the fabric. Should be long enough to be a scarf, but use your own judgement for how long you want it to be. Pin together a piece of fleece and fabric right sides together leaving the end of the rectangle open. Pull the fabric right side out when done.

  4. Small 4467

Put the hood pieces you sewed together so that the fabric piece is out the outside of the fleece piece. (See picture for example.) Once the hood pieces are together pin and sew along the front seam. At this point you also should pin the two scarf pieces to each bottom side on what would be the right side of the hood when you turn it inside out.

  5. Small 4468

At this point your scarf pieces should be sewn in and the only thing left to do is finish your scoody by sewing along the bottom. Keep it turned inside out and sew along the bottom. Leave about two inches open at the bottom.

  6. Small 4469

Pull the hood through the space you left on the bottom of the hood. To finish it off sew a stitch along the bottom and you are done. Ask me any questions! I hope you enjoyed this tut :)
