A tasty little treat for Christmas! You could also try matching scents to different characters & objects (sea breeze fragrance mermaid, honey scented bee, candy, fruit like apples or oranges etc...) Drawing a template is easy : sketch by hand, download a gingerbread man shape, draw round a cookie cutter... BUT if you don't feel able to, just ask and I'll post one.

Description

A tasty little treat for Christmas! You could also try matching scents to different characters & objects (sea breeze fragrance mermaid, honey scented bee, candy, fruit like apples or oranges etc...) Drawing a template is easy : sketch by hand, download a gingerbread man shape, draw round a cookie cutter... BUT if you don't feel able to, just ask and I'll post one.

Instructions

  1. First, scent your stuffing! The easiest way is to put your stuffing into a small freezer/food bag with your choice of fragrances and giving it a good shake. I created a Christmassy scent by combining crushed cinnamon stick, dried ginger and sweet orange essential oil.

  2. Next draw round your template onto a double thickness of felt and cut out.

  3. Set aside one man for now (this will be the back) Add the details onto the remaining piece. Attach the buttons then embroider the facial features using black thread for the mouth & eyes and white for the "icing" trims at his wrists & ankles.

  4. Stitch the two pieces together, right sides out, using an overstitching technique (blanket stitch?) Remember to leave a gap for stuffing.

  5. Stuff & then neatly close the gap, adding the hanging ribbon to the top of the head.

  6. Hang on your radiator & the scent will permeate the room as it warms up. Or make him some friends and hang on your Christmas Tree.
