Some lovely scent bags to fill fill cotton wool/rags and essential oils to make your house smell nice! Why stop there? You can hang them in your airing cupboard, drawers and wardrobes! This will show you 3 ways to make a scent bag. ( for want of a better name!)

*NOTE: The bottom of sleeves work really well for this project. Take a piece of scrap fabric, doesn't matter what size. Cut it to a rectangular/ square shape. If it is small then skip to Step 3 Also skip to Step 3 if you're feeling lazy or haven't got much time.
My scraps tended to be sleeves from shirts or jumpers, so I only had to sew up the 'bottom'. I left the cuff part open. Turn the scrap inside out and sew the bottom of the rectangle shut. (sew the other sides shut to leave just ONE side open)
If you didn't use a sleeve then once you have sewn 3 sides together then just add in the insides (which I will explain at the end) and tie the top shut with a piece of ribbon or scrap string. (The purple bag in the pic was completed like this)
Turn right sides out If you have used a sleeve, then you can do what I did and go to the top of the rectangle that is open and cut two small slits either side of the inside seam. (see pic)
Get your scrap string or piece of ribbon... and attach the safety pin to the end. The safety pin will make it easier to thread the string/ribbon
You want to thread the safety pin through one of the holes. Work it around, through the fabric, till it comes out of the 2nd hole.. This will now be a drawstring bag!
When I used the shirt sleeve- I cut the cuff off and was left with the wrist to elbow section. I did not have a ready made drawstring around the top so I followed steps 1&2 then turned the top edge over and hemmed. Make sure to leave the sides open, to be able to pass the string/ribbon through. Also make sure you make the 'tunnel' big/wide enough to pass string/ribbon through.
Once all bags are sewn- collect rags/ scraps or cotton wool and apply your essential oil to it.
Then tie up bags and place them around your house! Place them on radiators in the winter for them to scent your house when the radiators are turned on. Good luck!
