You Will Need (5 things)

  • 1 Pair of leather Boots
  • Fabric Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Old Cloth or rag
  • Newspaper or magazine pages, etc.

Steps (5 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Start with a clean pair of boots - make sure your wipe off all dust, dirt, grime, grease, etc.

  2. 2

Now, paint! If you want to cover large areas of the boots, like I did with the toes, heels and tops, I recommend using an old cloth or rag to wipe the paint on in thin layers. For painting detail work, use a small brush.

  3. 3

Here's a helpful tip: stuff your boots with newspaper, magazine pages or used plastic bags to help them hold their shape while you work with them and pant!

  4. 4

Allow your boots to dry fully before wearing and showing them off proudly! ;)

*To clean, use a damp cloth or non-abrasive cleaner.

  5. 5

I used Jacquard Lumiere fabric paints - whatever paint you use, I highly recommend paint made especially for leather/fabric.

Think of all of the ways you can customize your own boots - try a stencil, draw your own beautiful pictures, cover the whole boot in paint and make yourself a completely new pair of boots!! Be creative and have fun! :)
