I loosely followed this how to - http://www.instructables.com/id/Safety-Pin-Wings/ But after the first few pins, you just end up making it up as you go along :) Also, never really had to take a photo of my own back before, harder to do than the jacket :D

Instructions

1. Attach pins to form wings, don't panic about trying to get both wings identical as it's not going to happen x

2. after you're happy with the shape and size of your wings, the placement of the pins and such, pinch the safety pins closed.

3. stitch the safety pins down not only for added security but also so that they lay flat against your jacket and shows off your design a lot better. And done :)
