This is a fun necklace to wear with almost anything. I got the inspiration for it from a picture of a necklace I saw on tumbler. Don't be scared to try it because it has so many steps it is really simple to make and you can change the beads to what ever color you like. You can also make a pattern with the beads. Also you don't have to use chain you can just stop at step six and string beads on and add clasps. Oh and I don't know exactly how long this took.

Instructions

  1. Small dsc00254

Materials: •Seed beads of your choice (size and color does not matter) I used while and metallic beads of different sizes. •Safety pins of varies sizes •String (I used some hemp) •Chain (mine was about 12 ½ inches) (If its thinner chain the length might vary) (optional see description) •Clasp •2 jump rings (not shown) •Jewelry tools (not shown, they are just small pliers)

  2. Small dsc00257

Line up the safety pins in order so that there is a large pin in the middle and then it descends as it goes to the end. So it will look something like this.... You can use as many as you like I used 13 pins.

  3. Small dsc00258

Open up the pins and string the beads into them. I just did them in a random order. You could make up a pattern if you like. So mine ended up looking a little like so....

  4. Small dsc00262

Proceed to face them in one direction. Like so ....

  5. Small dsc00263

Now take your sting and sting through the top of the pins.

  6. Small dsc00264

When they are all strung double not the ends. It should look like this...

  7. Small dsc00265

Take the chain find the middle and unlink it. (using the tools) When the chain is unlinked you should have two pieces of chain both about 6 to 6 ½ inches long.

  8. Small dsc00267

Now take one end of the sting and tie it to the chain and cut the excess off. Do this to both sides.

  9. Small dsc00274

You’re almost done. Take one of the jump rings open it up link the other end of the chain though it and one of the clasp ends to it and close it. Do the same to the other side and you’re done.

  10. Small dsc00277

Note: I used two jump rings on one end because when I tried it with on there was not enough space for it to close properly. (This is a toggle clasp) (If you are using a claw clasp like this... (see pic) then you only have to use one on each end.)

    The Finished piece!
