Make a frilly denim skirt using a pair of jeans that fit and a skirt or dress with ruffles or tiers.
Cut the legs off the jeans about 4 inches below the crotch.
Cut up both sides of inseam, removing seam altogether.
Use seam ripper to open up front to just below zipper and back seam to about the same height.
Turn jeans inside-out and seam new seams straight down. Trim excess fabric.
Cut a curved edge, being carefully not to cut through pocket lining.
Insert ruffled skirt into jeans and pin in place.
Sew all around and trim excess skirt material about 1 inch from stitching.
Fold fabric under and pin in place.
Sew another line of stitching parallel to the first.
Use tan thread to top-stitch down new back seam, to mimic the look of the existing seam.
