Add several beads of your choice to an eyepin. You may also wish to use your bead cups around the central bead. Using your cutters, trim your eyepin, leaving 1cm above the last bead. Using round nosed pliers, curl the end into a loop. Repeat step one until you have 12 filled eyepins in total. Fill 12 headpins in the same way. Leave 10 of these for step 5.
To begin the first side of your necklace, cut one 20cm length of chain. Add one of your beaded headpins to one end. Open up the loop on one end of a filled eyepin, attach to the other end of the 20cm length and close, making sure you close it tightly leaving no gap. Then cut another 20cm length of chain into 5 pieces, ranging from about 2 to 6cm.
To complete the first side of the necklace, open up the loop at the bottom of the eyepin. Hook one of the shorter lengths onto it. Close the loop. Carry on in this way adding eyepins followed by the short pieces of chain until you have added 6 eyepins in total. You should finish with an eyepin.
For the second side, repeat steps 2 to 3, this time, cutting your extra 20cm length into 6 instead of 5 pieces. End this side with chain, not an eyepin. To join the sides, attach the bottom of the chain from the second side onto the bottom eyepin from the first side.
Cut 10 pieces of chain each between 4 to 10cm long. Attach a beaded headpin to the end of a length. For the attaching hook, open an eyepin loop, hang on the opposite end of the chain and close. Cut approximately 1cm above the loop of the eyepin and bend into a loop. Repeat on the remaining lengths. Add the 2 longest headpin lengths to the necklace join. Hang remaining lengths along the necklace.
Cut 4, 6cm pieces of chain and make an attaching hook at both ends of each piece. Attach these chains so that they lie around the beads along the necklace. Lay your necklace with both sides adjacent. Add one part of your toggle, with an attaching hook, about half way along one of the 20cm lengths of chain. Add the other part to the other 20cm length making sure that both sides are of equal length.
Your finished necklace should look something like this.
