Description

I became obsessed with these flowers that I made all summer and somehow they've ended up on lots of clothing and accessories. :)

Instructions

  1. First, you need a scarf to glue/sew the flowers to.

  2. Small dsc 0162 1252542333

Here is how to make the flowers. 1.Cut squares of fabric. 2. Iron the corners in until you get a circle-like shape.

Do the same for the other color of fabric for your flower layers. You do not need 2 layers, but I think it looks nicer with 2. Don't worry about gluing the corners down, the sewing machine will stabilize them later.

Find similarly shaped layers and layer them on top of one another.

  5. Small dsc 0165 1252542418

Cut strips of another fabric to make the swirl on the fabric. Sew the strips onto the 2 layers of fabric starting from the middle and moving out.

Here is what the swirl looked like when I was doing it.

After you have enough flowers to cover the scarf, (I used my tutorial pictures from my skirt), take the fabric glue to the back of the flower and place it on the scarf.

Make sure you have enough glue on the flowers to hold them into place. Pin them in place as you go. Wait for the glue to dry.

After this, I sewed beads into the middle of the flowers on the scarf. You can do so if you wish, I think they look a little better, but it looks fine without!
