my daughter complained she didn't have a felt brooch and requested a robot - which was good 'cause i wanted to try one out anyhow!

draw your design onto card & cut out - i always use cereal packets! trace round card shape onto your grey felt & cut out.
cut out small rectangle of black felt for "control panel" add trimmings - i used a red heart brad, a tiny button and two parts of sew on snaps. then sew control panel onto robots body - i used three strands of red embroidery thread and used blanket stitch.
next sew on two parts of snap fastener for eyes and a loop from a hook & loop fastener for a mouth {i openened mine up a little}
now you need to cut out two slightly larger bodies out of black felt - i drew around my original template onto the felt using a white jellyroll pen then left a seam allowance - you can cut out the back roughly at this stage. cut one robot out of card - same size as grey robot.
using a small piece of double-sided tape i attached grey robot to black body - then blanket stitched in red aroud whole outline of grey robot,next i added detail to his legs.
sew on a safety pin to other black body - i used more double-sided to stick card body and black back piece to the front then trimmed back to size and blanket stitched in black to complete the brooch.
