Can be used as a Christmas tree hanger, decoration tag for a present, or a card embellishment …
Creating your robin decoration ~ Use pattern (not to scale - increase or decrease to desired size) to cut out the body x 2, wings x 2 and 1 x red breast. Link to pattern - http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr102/incywincystitches/pattern_pieces.jpg
Next slot the red felt and ribbon between the 2 body pieces and pin then tack (stitch lightly) into position. Then tack the 2 wings into position ensuring that they sit slightly over the red breast. Your robin can now be machine or hand stitched …
Machine stitch around your robin as image ... (or) Hand stitch – blanket stitch around the edge (black spots), then use running stitch around breast and over wing (white spots).
Finally remove tacking thread, add on button eyes and your robin hanger is finished!
Something different? … Reduce the pattern size and add a brooch pin to the back to make a cute felt Christmas brooch!
