The trend for this summer is ripped jeans. When I was done shredding, I had lots of strips of jeans left and I just started playing with them. Et voila! The best knife for the job is some sort of corrugated steak knife. Normal knives with a smooth blade don't really work the fabric as well.

Cut a strip from your piece of jeans, long enough to fit around your wrist. You get the best results by using a seam - like the underside of pants etc.) so the jeans is twice as thick, otherwise you'll cut through when slicing. (It's a bangle bracelet, so you have to be able to slide it on and off. Hold this in account when cutting!)
Now get your wood or brick. I used a block of wood, but a brick works just as well.
Place your strip of jeans on the wood, along the edge.
Now get your knife and just move it down along your jeans. For those of you who've ever sharped a knife: that's the movement you're looking for!
Repeat this a couple of times, until your strip is as worn and torn as you want it to be.
When you're done, sew the two ends together. And there's your bracelet!
