Instructions

  1. Small 106770 2f2015 01 16 182820 ribbons vertical

Take time selecting your ribbon. You may want to make a few samples to determine your preferences with regard to color, width and drape. The length and evenness of your stitches can have a dramatic effect on the volume of your bracelet. Remember, there is no right or wrong, just preference and personal taste so play with the process and have fun!

  2. Small 106770 2f2015 01 13 053757 running st%2bcopy

With needle and a length of thread, stitch the first button into place 12-15 in (30-37.5 cm) from one end. With a running stitch, begin working across the length of ribbon in long, even stitches. The length of your stitches will affect the volume of your finished object so be consistent!

  3. Small 106770 2f2015 01 13 053827 gather2

Gather and compress ribbon together as you go, leaving 12-15 in (30-37.5 cm) at the end of piece. Compress gathers firmly by pushing toward the first button and knot the end of thread to hold gathers in place.

  4. Small 106770 2f2015 01 13 053903 button%2bcopy

Attach second button and trim ends. Tie ribbon lengths around your wrist, neck or head with a pretty bow.
