so this is my first project that actually has to deal with a sewing machine! im only a beginner so plz dont judge!! :D haha jk plz judge me!
so i bought this skirt and it came with a belt of its own but i didnt like it so i decided to make one myself! i had a big roll of black satin ribbon and it looks nice with casual and formal clothes so i used it to make the belt!
P.s. yes i know i suck at explaining the steps so just ask if you need help.

You Will Need (2 things)
- Satin Ribbon
- Sewing Machine (Unless You Hand Sew)
Steps (12 steps, 20 minutes)
-
1
ok lets get started! your going to need a ribbon at your desired width and length. measure your waist. i measured to where the skirt went up to.
-
2
add a couple of inches to what your measurement came to. then cut!
also cut another ribbon with the exact same measurement.there will be two sides, an inner and outer ribbon.
MAKE SURE ITS THE RIGHT LENGTH BEFORE YOU CUTex. mine was 28 then i added 2 inches so i cut at 30.

3
your going to need something to attach one end of the belt to the other.
i used velcro but i think those snappy things will work too. (i forgot wat they were called) haha :P
-
4
if your using velcro sew it to one end of the ribbon and leave some space
-
5
ok so take the other ribbon and fold the edge. take the ribbon with the velcro and fold that as will. put the two ribbons together and stitch.
save the other part that goes with the velcro this is needed for later!idk if im explaining this right but i hope the picture helps..

6
so this is how it will look like. the velcro side is the outer part of the belt. now go to the other part of the belt that is not stitched up.
-
7
this is the bow i made but you can make your own kind or you can use a flower. experiment with wat you want to put!
-
8
decide where you would put the bow and hand sew it on. make sure you sew on the outer ribbon only! also leave at least an inch at the end
bow goes on the outer part of the ribbon.
-
9
so wat about the other part of the velcro???
well we need to sew that on the inner ribbon below the bow. so flip the side with the bow and thats where the velcro goes. sew it on like the one on step 4.
so when you attach each end they meet up and stick to each other..

11
now just sew on the edges!
like on the picture you would sew on the red lines -
12
voila!!! you get this!
now you can experiment with it! use a flower instead of a bow or use a different kind of fabric!
:D
