Do As I Do, & As I Say. WEAR GLOVES OR GET BURNED.
Put a Desk together, or use an old one it doesn't matter. If it needs sanding, then sand it.
Get all of your supplies together, I am going to list everything here too: Desk Scissors Paintbrush Resin (epoxy) Acrylic Sealer Mod Podge Some Magazines Cardstock Paper (I used animal print) A Ruled paper cutter (mine is lighted so I can see the lines better) Latex Gloves Glue/Wood Glue Newspaper Something to spread the resin with. Plastic Measuring cups & A Painters mask (If you cant stand the smell of resin, I am immune to it now)
Take some of the card stock paper & cut it into long even strips.
Now cut the strips into even squares.
Now that your squares are cut, lay out some newspaper & spread them out evenly.
Take your podge & spread an even layer over the squares. Take not that the square will pop up when it is wet or be convex so to speak, like the green leopard print one in the pic, once it dries though, it will turn concave or fan out. Normally takes like 15 mins to dry.
Clear off the desk & Glue your squares down in a dope pattern. XD
Once you are finished with that, it should look pretty cool, I messed up my patten on here but most people don't notice it haha. You can spread another layer of mod podge on the desk if you want.
Shake up the sealer & spray it across the entire surface, I only do this so the color wont leak into the epoxy.
Take your magazine pages & cut out whatever you plan on putting on there. (dues ex is super sexy so..yeah.)
Glue those down wherever & then spread a layer of podge on it, or spray it with the sealer.
I would suggest taking the desk outside (so the fumes wont get to ya), & laying a huge piece of cardboard, or laying down lots of newspaper. The resin will drip, so this prevents it from ruining yo porch.
Now put your gloves on & get ready to mix your resin, I am just using cups to measure, the resin can eat the cup up, so its best to mix it in something durable. I mix mine in a jar.
Now go back outside & pour the resin mixed on to the desk, bubbles will form but the heat outside will pop them, so does your hot breath but hyperventilating is not a good idea. XD
Now spread it out evenly (sorry I couldn't get a pic doing this, cause I didn't wanna ruin my camera)It will take days to dry sometimes weeks, so don't think this will happen overnight. But after that you are done! I hope I helped! :)
