Red Ruby Shoes Revamp!
Old shoes into new

About
I've been wanting a pair of red shoes for a while. A friend gave me a pair of open toe salmon coloured mary janes, that I thought I could revamp. Any shoes will do, but the closer they are in colour to what you want, the better. If your shoe is not close (especially if it's darker than you want it) you will need to prime your shoes with white.

1
Find a pair of shoes!

This is the kind of paint I used. It's used for painting plastic and metal models (Warhammer fans will recognise it!) It's not cheap, but it's built to last a bit longer than other paints.

3
Paint your shoes.

4
Let dry over night. Place on newspaper so you don't accidentally paint something you don't want to.

5
Get your mode-podge/shellac or something similar out and paint over your shoes. This helps protect the paint, and gives it a nice sheen. You don't have to do this step.

Let dry.

I've been adding rhinestones to mine as well (and you'll also notice I cut off the strap to make them look more classic). Any kind of gem-tac will work.
