I got a Fujifilm Instax mini 8 camera a few months ago. I didn't want to throw out the film cases as they are useful for storing the pictures in so they don't get damaged. I made cardboard frames from a cracker box and covered them with Washi tape so they would look pretty. Here is how I did it so you can make your own!

Description

I got a Fujifilm Instax mini 8 camera a few months ago. I didn't want to throw out the film cases as they are useful for storing the pictures in so they don't get damaged. I made cardboard frames from a cracker box and covered them with Washi tape so they would look pretty. Here is how I did it so you can make your own!

Instructions

  1. Small 115956 2f2017 02 27 175145 dscf6482

I started out with the empty cartridge. I took careful measurements of the center opening and the biggest side so I could make the sides of the frame the same size and it would stand by itself when finished.

  2. Small 115956 2f2017 02 27 175336 dscf6483

I used a Club Cracker box that was sitting empty on my desk and cut a rectangle the size of my outside measurements (3 3/8" x 4").

  3. Small 115956 2f2017 02 27 175918 dscf6484

    I cut the center rectangle out (1 7/8" x 2 1/2").

  4. Small 115956 2f2017 02 27 180051 dscf6487

I used my first frame as a pattern to cut out a second frame then picked out washi tape to cover the cardboard frames.

  5. Small 115956 2f2017 02 27 180406 dscf6489

On the frame I covered with the red sparkly tape, I just put the tape on, covering all surfaces visible.

  6. Small 115956 2f2017 02 27 180458 dscf6490

With the purple tape with the designs, I mitered the corners.

  7. Small 115956 2f2017 02 27 181509 win 20170227 11 05 42 pro

I used double stick tape to attach the frames to the cartridges, but you could use hot glue or tacky glue-- or E-6000 if you really want it to stick.

Once finished, they should stand on their own.
