Recycled Gift Wrap
Decorate presents with magazine pages

About
I was inspired by this post where they printed off fonts then cut them out and used them for lettering on a package:
As something this fancy would have looked awkward under our "Charley Brown" tree, I decided to use an old magazine and make letters from the pages or cut out letters to decorate the presents after I used magazine pages to wrap them. This works great for VHS, DVDs and video games or smaller.

Here are some samples of the finished product:
The only materials you need are:
- An old magazine (I used an old "Interview" magazine as the pages are larger and they have more "artsy" images, but any magazine would do)".
- A glue stick (to glue the letters or images to packaging and to seal the packaging - you could also use tape if you would prefer).
- Scissors (to cut up words and images from the magazine). -
2
Cut out letters from the magazine of the person you are giving the present to or freehand them
-
3
Wrap the present in one of the pages from the magazine (if too small, glue two or more sheets together at the sides)
Glue the letters to the package and glue any other decorations that you would like and you have a very original, one-of-a-kind package to give.

Another version is to cut out letters and paste them on "TV movie kidnapper style".

This is a larger package where several pages of a magazine were glued together, then drew the letters freehand from a colorful magazine page and cut out the leters of the name and then glued a part of a page that had guitars on it from an old music catalog and glued it over the front as my son into guitars.

This a page from the old music catalog and it was used to wrap the present.
I then then drew the letters freehand from a colorful magazine page for the letters of the name then glued them to a white part of a magazine page, outlined the letter of the name and the edges of the white piece in pink highlighter then glued it ot the package.
