I work in a law library and we discard (well recycle) hundreds of book jackets a year so I decided to come up with some alternative ways to use them before they're discarded. That's my cat Annie helping me attach the strings.

The first thing you need is some book jackets or decorative paper for the front of the tag.
You also need rubber stamps, ink, or anything else you want to use to decorate the tags.
Glue pieces of plain paper to the backside of the book jackets. Allow to dry.
Tape your tag templates to the book jacket and cut out the design.
Punch a hole in the top of the tag and attach a string or a ribbon. You can stamp a message or a design on the plain side of the tag if you like.
