Take the backboard off the bookcase and plaster it with glue. I found a cheap spray glue which worked a treat!
Lay over your pretty paper and rub out the air bubble (if any) with your fingers, leave aside to dry.
I checked at this point to make sure you couldn't see the joins in the paper (I had to use 2 sheets). Hmmm well, you could, but not from a distance, so that suited me fine!
Now sand those shelves down! P.s. this is a v boring job, if possible get a partner/friend/random from the street to do this for you!
Primer! Slap that prime on!! Well, please don't actually slap, i used a roller and did two layers letting each layer dry inbetween.
And yes, you gotta do the same for the main part of the bookcase! Grrrr, this is a lengthy craft indeed!
Well i stupidly did not take a picture of me actually painting the colour on (so here is a picture of my cat as a treat for you!), but it really doesn't take a genius to figure out what to do! Paint on your colour and do 2 coats if needed. I think in the future i will give it a varnish too, just to protect the paint.
And finally the finished piece, furnish with knick knacks and general rubbish as i have here and you will be one happy lady!! Enjoy!
