I made this last minute for my friends 16th birthday. It's really simple and has loads of ways to change it up. I made my own cake, but you can buy one store made or whatever. I used m and ms for the top but anything can be used...skittles, malteasers, Oreos etc.
I made this last minute for my friends 16th birthday. It's really simple and has loads of ways to change it up. I made my own cake, but you can buy one store made or whatever. I used m and ms for the top but anything can be used...skittles, malteasers, Oreos etc.
So first of all I made four cakes, they were quite thin so you could just use one or two thick cakes if you wish. i just used a one-egg cake recipe from Edmonds cook book. But you can use anything.
After stacking the cakes, I then carved them to be the same size (you can do this with just a bread knife) and covered it with icing.
I got a few bags of sour candy straps and a bag of m and m's
Place the rainbow straps around sides of the cake. Make sure they stick. I tied a ribbon around the sides so they stayed on better and looked cool haha.
Then I made a lime icing which I put over the top. Make sure it's not too runny or else it will spill all over the rainbow straps. Then sprinkle your M and M's over the top, spread them out enough so you can't see the cake. And waa laa. Finished! Enjoy! Post any versions :) xoxo
