I just bought a new car and decided to retire my old furry steering wheel cover. I soon found that it's impossible to find cool covers anymore. While in my closet I found a scrap of fabric I used to make a really cool lime zebra skirt a few years ago. I light bulb went off in my head and I ended up with the most awesome car decoration ever! After that I found another scrap of steampunky clock fabric to do the tutorial. Enjoy!

Cut out fabric to 44" x 4.5". (I like to cut out the pattern on a piece of wrapping paper first so I can use it later without having to measure again.)
Fold the long edges in about 1/2" and press.
Sew the short ends together then sew up the sides that were pressed down to make piping for the elastic. Be sure to leave the seams open 1/2" to pull the elastic through.
Attach the elastic end to a pin. It makes it easier to feed through the piping. Feed it through then sew the ends of the elastic. Sew the seams shut. Repeat on the other side.
Hoozah! You now have a steering wheel cover that's almost as awesome as you.
