This is an easy quiche to make for a picnic, lunch or dinner. It can be made with shop bought pastry so no need to worry about making the shortcrust pastry. You could obviously adapt this recipe by adding what ever you have or like. It is good hot or cold what ever you prefer. It's a great easy treat.
This is an easy quiche to make for a picnic, lunch or dinner. It can be made with shop bought pastry so no need to worry about making the shortcrust pastry. Heat oven Gas 6 or equivalent roll out pastry & line a pie tin. Bake blind for 15 mins. Remove beans and cook for a further 5 mins. Remove from oven. Reduce oven temp to Gas 5.
Fry the bacon. Add the onions and fry until translucent. Place into the cooked pastry case. Add the peas if using. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
Beat eggs in a bowl.
Pour onto the pastry filled case and place in the oven. Cook for approx 30 mins or until egg is just set in the middle.
Remove from oven and serve warm or cold.
