When I spotted some giant flowers made out of q-tips at Anthroplogie a few years ago I knew I needed to make my own smaller version. This project is the most popular one on my blog and is great for both kids and adults! Make some to add some festive decor for a party or just to cheer up your home.

Gather your materials. You will need a lot of q-tips. Like, when you think you have enough, go get more. You can use food coloring of any color, fake flowers (just for the stems), styrofoam balls and scissors.
Cut the top and bottom ends of the q-tips. Discard the center.
Simply begin inserting the q-tips into the styrofoam balls.
Continue to add q-tips until the ball is completely filled.
Mix food coloring with water and roll the ball in the colored water until the q-tips are saturated. Let it dry. When completely dry, cut the stem off of a flower and insert it in the styrofoam ball.
