Here's an easy purple smokey eye that is fun and easy to do. Just follow the steps and you can start trying new colors too! This eye takes anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes depending on how used you are to working with makeup. I have always loved makeup. Finally I can share my passion for colors and art! Favorite me and feel free to make requests! You can see the brushes and colors I used in my pics.

Instructions

  1. Small 100 4988 1276837128

Always start with clean moisturized skin. If you've got stray brows... clean them up with tweezers... don't over-tweeze please... Obviously I have done this. Lol, Growing them back is no fun.

  2. Small 100 4993 1276837196

Oh my! Conceal those dark circles! A little goes a long way. Always use your ring finger... The skin around your eyes is super sensitive and your ring finger provides the lightest touches.

  3. Small 100 4994 1276837269

Prime your eyes! Put a thin layer all over your eyelid. Doing this helps colors stick, and show up more vibrantly. It also helps your makeup stay in place, and prevents creasing.

  4. Small 100 4995 1276837639

Use a light lavender as a base color. This goes all over your lid. The higher you go with eye shadow... the more dramatic the effect.

  5. Small 100 4996 1276837720

Use a purple color on your lid... Don't go crazy on your crease because the next step adds color there too! All thought this look alone looks good. :) Always blend. Blending is how you get the smoke effect... With out blending your colors look sloppy and amateur. That's not cute, so always be conscious of your lines and colors blending.

  6. Small 100 5001 1276838039

Use a plum color on your crease, extending it to the center of your eye, and up. The higher up, the more dramatic effect you will achieve. Bring it down to the lower lashes. Only go about half way in and remember to keep the color close to your lash line. We don't want to look clobbered. Be sure to blend and clean up the edges. Remember sloppy is not cute.

  7. Small 100 5005 1276838149

Highlight your brow bone with a white or creamy beige color. This adds definition and makes the shadow over your lid more intense.

  8. Small 100 5007 1276838253

Highlight your inner canthus (Inside near the tear duct,) making your eyes look awake! Blend into lid very slightly... you don't want your lid to be white.

  9. Small 100 5010 1276838366

Use a Purple or black eyeliner on your water line. I used purple because it brings out my brown eyes, and I get tired of black all the time. Black does this effectively for any color too.

  10. Small 100 5011 1276838508

Line your eyes all around with black liquid liner. Gel liner is good too. :) I made slight flicks on the inside and outside... No fancy cat eye today. Sorry girlies! (I poked myself. :P My eye is red! Visine!! Where are you????)

  11. Small 100 5015 1276838574

Apply black mascara to both upper and lower lashes.

  12. Small 100 5018 1276838655

Brush your brows... some people fill them in slightly. Ill groomed eyebrows are not cute, and must be tamed for any shadow to look good. Voila! You have completed the purple smokey eye!!
