I RECENTLY PURCHASED SOME FUN LITTLE NAIL FOIL TAPES SO NOW I HAVE 10 DIFFERENT COLORS OF NAIL TAPE FOR DECORATING MY NAILS. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE FUN TO DO A LITTLE TUTORIAL TO SHOW ONE OF THE WAYS TO USE THEM. I CHOOSE TWO COMPLIMENTARY COLORS AND USED SOME REGULAR TAPE TO CREATE RANDOM PATTERNS ON MY NAILS THEN I RETRACE THE EDGES OF THE SHAPES WITH THE NAIL TAPE AND VOILA A SUPER CLEAN AND FUNKY MANICURE YOU CAN DO AT HOME. I REALLY RECOMMEND THAT BECAUSE YOUR GOING TO BE WORKING IN LAYERS THAT YOU USE A HIGH QUALITY AND FAST DRYING POLISH, IF YOUR POLISH IS TOO LOW BUDGE IT WILL TAKE FOREVER TO DRY AND THAT MAKES IT EASY TO SMUDGE AND RUIN ALL YOUR HARD WORK. There are a couple of tricks that I’ll share with you on how to get it done with the least amount of fuss. First start with applying two coats of the lighter color on your nails, then you have to wait for your polish to be perfectly dry so that none of the polish comes off with the tape. Another good trick is to precut the office tape you use for creating the shapes and lines and stick it to your pants or tshirt once or twice to make it a little less sticky, this will make it easier to remove without removing any polish. Also just apply the clear office tape on one nail at a time, don’t do all your nails at the same time, once you apply a coat of polish slowely remove the tape right away, don’t wait for the polish to dry, this way you get the cleanest line. Also you can use a qtip with a couple of drops of polish remover to help clean up your nails around the edges if you have any stray bits of polish. Once your nails are all finished and perfectly dry remember to apply 2 top coats this will help seal the tape down and will help make your manicure last longer.

Instructions

  1. Small 1

STEP ONE Start by cleaning up your nails, apply a cuticle oil and push down your cuticles, then file the edges till they are the length and style that you want.

  2. Small 2

STEP TWO Choose two polishes one light and a contrasting dark polish, then choose your complimentary color of foil tape, I used two shades of purple polish and silver tape

  3. Small 6170215

STEP THREE Apply two coats of the lighter color and let it dry completely before moving on to the next step, don’t rush this step or you might have your polish come off when you remove the tape

  4. Small 41

STEP FOUR Using normal office tape stick it on your pants or shirt a couple of times to make it a little less sticky and then create a shape on your nails with it. Easy designs you can do are horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines, triangles or stripes.

  5. Small 5

STEP FIVE Apply one coat of the darker color and then very slowely and carefully remove the tape. Use a qtip with a couple of drops of polish remover to help clean up the stray bits of polish around your nails.

  6. Small 7

STEP SEVEN Apply two coats of top coat and your all finished

  7. Small 81

    All done :)
